Combining Heat Treatment and High-Pressure Torsion to Enhance the Hardness and Corrosion Resistance of A356 Alloy

A356 aluminium alloy is subjected to heat treatment and high-pressure torsion (HPT) processing investigate the impact of combined treatments on alloy’s microstructure refinement, corrosion resistance hardness. The process was performed at room temperature for 0.75 5 turns. Subjecting Al a subsequent HPT produced more refined microstructure, which has effect enhancing hardness under fragmentation homogenous redistribution intermetallic compounds Si particles. results show that there marked increase in when imposing strain from 61 HV 198 alloy, been HPTed heat-treated five polarisation curves considerable improvement rate 0.043 mm·year?1 sample 0.003 after turns HPT. In this work, refinement resulted both mechanical strength 356 comparison untreated alloy.
